Tutta Bella on Cypress Creek

Sometimes the best date-night restaurants are the ones that happen to be exactly where you already spend half your life.

Tutta Bella is a new addition on Cypress Creek, conveniently located right across the fields from CPYL — where we spend several nights a week watching the kids play sports. This particular location has changed restaurants several times over the years, so we were curious to see what had moved in this time.

Tutta Bella comes from the same owners as Bella Sera of Leander, which gave us another good reason to give the new location a try.

Dinner: wine, warm bread and Italian comfort food

We started with wine and a basket of warm bread before dinner. Jen ordered the salmon with vegetables, while Mark went the comfort-food route with sausage and pasta.

The prices were reasonable, particularly for a sit-down Italian dinner, making this an easy option for a casual weeknight date rather than something you have to save for a special occasion.

The restaurant is new, and our waiter told us it was actually his first day. Everyone is still settling into the new location, which is part of the fun of trying a neighborhood restaurant right after it opens — you get to watch it find its footing.
