We kicked off Jen’s birthday with dinner at The Kimberly, a new downtown restaurant that felt special as soon as we walked in. It is beautifully designed, elegant and polished, with the kind of classic upscale feel that works especially well for a birthday or anniversary.
The staff was extremely attentive, the steaks were excellent, and the view gave us a front-row seat to people walking through downtown Austin below. It made the room feel connected to the city while still feeling calm and refined.
Jen’s review included one detail that deserves to make the journal: the bathrooms were beautiful.
It is the kind of restaurant where getting dressed up feels appropriate. For a special occasion, that made it a strong first stop.
